Gaming Software Review: Curse Voice

Gaming Software Review: Curse Voice

Snatch up those headsets, rally up the team, and get ready for your competitive matches, because Curse Voice delivers a performance that surpasses all other communication software.

For years, the competitive gaming scene has been around, and for just as many years there have been communication platforms that allow teams to communicate in order to be at their most effective. Roger Willco, Raidcall, and Skype (just to name a select few) have all made their mark on the gaming world. So what separates Curse Voice from the crowd?

First and foremost, the simple four letter word "FREE" is probably Curse's first distinguishing feature. While other communication platforms offer a "free version" of the software, there is also some incentive to buy services. Whether it's higher quality sound, or the purchase of a private server, other platforms just seem to find a way to make a buck. And this is not at all a bad thing. Some games require this sort of exclusive offer. Curse Voice, for all intents and purposes to the average gamer, doesn't require any additional cost to get the most effective performance. Just simply install, login, call up the squad, and it's game on.

Curse's next biggest feature (and quite possibly with the most impact) is the ability to link up to games directly, such as League of Legends or Smite, to give your in-game HUD a visual on headset and mic status of various party members. Not only does it give the user the direct visual indication that everybody is online, but it also gives a quick reference point to the user should a situation come up that requires the mic or headset to go quiet (i.e a phone call, personal matters, etc). This is so helpful because it doesn't require the user to have to "alt-tab" out to the desktop and lose those few precious seconds that might determine a victory over defeat.

Other features include a friends list that can be acquired through various games, great avatar customizations, and critical in-game tools such as timers or strategy tips. Not to mention the interface is extremely user friendly and anybody can navigate it within five minutes of use

All in all, Curse Voice is a must have for the casual to competitive gamer. There is no price tag, which is a huge plus, but the add in all of the useful tools that help out the competitive scene and one has the "secret ingredient" to a kick@$$ recipe.
